THE MINIMALLY INVASIVE AND HYBRID TECHNOLOGIES IN CURRENT STRATEGY OF CARDIAC PATHOLOGIES SURGICAL TREATMENT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE AT THE MEDICINA CLINIC

The “Minimally invasive and hybrid technologies in current strategy of cardiac pathologies surgical treatment” international conference took place at the Medicina clinic on April 15, 2014. The leading Russian and foreign cardiac surgeons exchanged their experience and discussed the modern methods used in the field.
During the discussion the possibilities of combined use of modern technologies such as stenting and coronary artery bypass graft surgery were considered to ensure the maximum effect and increase patient safety. Alberto Repossini, the Italian cardiac surgeon, M.D., Professor, stated several clinical examples of successful cooperation between cardiovascular and endovascular surgeons while solving the problem of myocardial revascularization at the premises of the Medicina JSC clinic. This hybrid philosophy and the creation of a team of cardiologists who would work out the optimal strategy of treating the patient with the help of every possible technology is the concept of modern cardiac surgery, - noted Alberto Repossini.
Igor Nikolayevitch Kotelnikov took a trip into the past an told that our fellow countryman Vasily Kolesov was the father of coronary bypass surgery and the first person to perform the mammary coronary bypass operation. In his report professor Kotelnikov showed the evolution of these operations from the first experiments on dogs to brilliant results of the modern high technologies.
In his European standards and approaches of cardiac surgery in Moscow report professor Kotelnikov talked about the experience of successful long-term cooperation of the Italian cardiac surgeons team and the doctors of Medicina JSC clinic, the time when the European standards of heart surgery were effectively implemented in the largest private clinic of Moscow. Igor Nikolayevitch stated that the key to success was the implementation of the package program: from the standards of pre-surgical patient examination to nurses training in Bergamo clinic, one of the leading heart surgery centers. Professor Kotelnikov also showed the results of the heart surgeries performed on the premises of the Medicina JSC clinic. For the period of 10 years the intra- and postoperative mortality amounted to 0%, and only 2,4% of patients needed the repeat heart revascularization.
This long-term Russia-Italy program of cardiovascular services at the Medicina clinic turned out to be a success and have perspectives. It is characterized by the individual tactical approach towards the cardiac patient treatment, the wide range of performed operations, minimally invasive technologies, compliance with the European cardiac surgery recommendations.
In his Modern approaches in cardiac surgery report Kornel Marushak, anesthesiologist, M.D., condisered in detail a wide range of aspects such as preoperative assessment , monitoring, specific drug management, ensuring the stability of hemodynamics, early extubation, performing appropriate pain relief during the post-operational period. The thorough observation of these rules allows to conduct coronary artery bypass graft on a beating heart to maximum effect and and make it safe for the patient.
We have been in cardiac surgery for over 10 years, and all operations here are conducted in strict compliance with the international standards. We are proud of the fact that a conference of such high level successfully took place in our clinic, - said Yury Voskanyan, Head Physician of the 3d Clinical Department, M.D., Professor
