What kind of doctors does a child need to go to school?

Before your child goes to school, he needs a medical check-up, which is mandatory. Bypassing doctors can take quite a long time, so it should not be postponed until the last moment. We will describe below which doctors you need to go to school, and how to properly organize the process.

Bypassing doctors: what you need to know?

Schoolchildren are supposed to undergo professional medical examinations once a year. It is most convenient to do this in the summer, before the start of the school year. In most cases, parents participate in the medical examination of their child, but he can also do this on his own - in this case, you need a written permission from the father or mother.

Children do not always openly share their problems with their parents, including their health. This is especially true for adolescents in their transitional age. Currently, there is a program for parents, thanks to which, using special questionnaires, you can confidentially find out the level of trust with your son or daughter.

Which doctors are required for school?

The medical examination for 1st grade students and children under 11 years old necessarily includes narrowly specialized specialists, but it is best to start the procedure by visiting a pediatrician. He will tell you in detail which doctors you need to go through, give directions for tests.

The first global physical examination is required for a child at 6 years old. Before entering first grade, your pediatrician will refer you to the following specialists:

  • ENT;

  • surgeon;

  • neuropathologist;

  • dentist;

  • speech therapist;

  • psychologist.

In addition, the child will need to undergo general tests of blood, urine, feces, and FLG.

Before going to the 1st grade, you also need to remember about vaccination. The child receives most of the vaccinations in kindergarten, after which the parents must be given an extract of the vaccines made. In the absence of any vaccination, the baby may simply not be admitted to school (unless the refusal of the vaccination was justified by a doctor's prescription).

At the age from 8 to 10 years, the child should in any case be observed by a pediatrician at least once a year. If health complaints appear, the doctor will give a referral for a wide examination.

From the age of 11, children again need to undergo an annual examination by narrow-profile specialists. From the age of 15, the pediatrician can add visits to the gynecologist (for girls) and urologist (for boys) to the doctor's rounds.

Timely medical examinations help to maintain the health of the child and identify ailments at an early stage. Therefore, parents should not neglect the prescriptions and properly set their children up for such procedures.
