Medicina JSC (Clinic of acaldemiician Roytberg) is the only Russian Clinic that confirmed its compliance with the JCI standards four times in a row

13/11/2020, Moscow. — The Joint Commission International (JCI) conducted a video survey of Medicina JSC (Clinic of academician Roytberg) for compliance with the requirements of the JCI standard, rev. 6. In Russia, a remote international inspection of the medical institution was conducted for the first time, and Medicina JSC (Clinic of academician Roytberg) obtained the fourth quality certificate, which made the clinic the only medical institution in Russia that confirmed its compliance with the JCI ”golden“ quality standard for the fourth time in a row over 9 years starting from 2011.

The team of international practitioners was appointed for video inspection. The team was composed of experts from Belgium, Singapore and USA, i.e. a physician, a nurse, and an administrator, who checked the clinic's departments and clinical staff using a mobile mini video station. The auditors assessed the clinic's operation by more than 1,200 JCI criteria for the entire week. The special attention was given to the quality of care, drug therapy safety, professional training of practitioners, medical referral operation algorithms, safety of the equipment, and all engineering systems of the building, radiation and biological safety, safety measures, and patient protection level.

The decision to issue the certificate was taken based on the conclusion issued by the Commission directly at the JCI headquarters in Chicago (USA).

”Based on the findings of the Triennial Hospital Survey conducted from October 26, 2020 till October, 30 2020 and the Decision-Making Rules of the Joint Commission International (JCI), Medicina JSC (Clinic of academician Roytberg) was granted the QUALIFIED status“, stated the JCI official conclusion.

”This year the JCI inspection has become a challenge for our clinic despite the fact that we have already confirmed our status of compliance with the JCI international standards three times. Undoubtedly, this time the work required technical preparation and full involvement of all employees in order to get as close as possible to the format of an on-site inspection in the clinic. We succeeded. As a result of a high degree of assessment of our work, we have become the first Russian Clinic that has successfully completed the JCI international audit amidst the pandemic using the video communication and the only medical institution in Russia that confirmed a high level of its operation quality according to the JCI standards for the fourth time“, said the President of Medicina JSC, academician of RAS of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory Roytberg.
