Cardiac Surgery Center

Today, there is no need to travel abroad to receive modern treatment in comfortable conditions – it is enough to contact the Moscow clinic of JSC "Medicine" (clinic of Academician Roitberg). After treatment, patients of our clinic have the opportunity to undergo a specialized rehabilitation program, which helps to maximize the quality of life and get involved in its normal rhythm.

The Meditsina Clinic, the first clinic in Russia accredited according to the international standards of medical care JCI, is one of the most successful in the field of treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system.

Coronarography

To obtain objective information about the condition of the coronary arteries, it is necessary to perform a coronary angiography. This is a method in which a contrast agent is injected into the coronary vessels. Coronary angiography is performed in two ways – either on a computed tomograph (MSCT-coronary angiography), or by injecting a contrast agent directly into the coronary vessels (selective coronary angiography). In this case, a special catheter is passed through the femoral artery and the upper part of the aorta into the lumen of the coronary arteries and the degree of their lesion is determined. Coronary angiography is the most accurate and reliable way to diagnose coronary heart disease, allowing you to accurately determine the nature, location and degree of narrowing of the coronary artery. This method allows us to solve the issue of choosing management tactics: some patients are shown only conservative treatment, in some cases angioplasty can be performed and a special vascular endoprosthesis — stent can be installed in the lumen of the coronary artery. Some patients require cardiac surgery.

Endovascular surgery

Endovascular surgery is a minimally invasive treatment method performed without an incision by puncturing an artery. At the same time, by various methods, it is possible to restore blood flow with narrowing (stenosis) of the artery or complete absence of blood flow (occlusion) due to atherosclerotic plaques and thrombotic masses. Balloon dilation and stenting are used in the clinic – the installation of the thinnest tube in the form of a metal mesh in a vessel.

Coronary angioplasty and stent application

Coronary angioplasty (opening of an artery using a balloon) is a minimally invasive method of opening

In the clinic of JSC "Medicine" coronary angioplasty and stenting are performed by Doctor of Medical Sciences S.A.Prozorov

In the clinic "Medicine", various types of cardiac surgery - CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting) and mammarocoronary bypass surgery are performed by a cardiac surgeon from Italy, Mauro del Giglio.

Mauro del Giglio – Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at GVM Care & Research - Maria Cecilia Hospital- Cotignola - Italy

The doctor has successfully performed almost 2500 operations for various cardiac pathologies, including: replacement of the aortic valve, coronary artery bypass grafting, minimally invasive coronary surgery, various types of manipulations on the heart valves with low-traumatic techniques both with preservation and with valve replacement, replacement of the root and arch of the aorta, etc. All procedures are carried out in the most modern and, if possible, gentle ways using the latest technologies and all relevant developments and reliable durable materials.

List of cardiovascular operations

Coronary bypass surgery (or CABG coronary artery bypass grafting)
