2021 leave: required certifications and testing

The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed our lives. The restrictions associated with COVID-19 have affected literally all areas of life, and recreation was no exception. Many countries have introduced strict security measures and only allow those tourists who have a vaccination certificate, a negative PCR test, or a certificate of a previous illness into their territory. The so-called "vacation tests" are also required in some Russian regions. In this article, we will tell you what documents are required for travel in Russia and abroad, as well as which countries and Russian regions allow tourists without any restrictions.

Vacation in a pandemic abroad

If you are going to visit one of the popular tourist destinations, for example, Turkey, Greece, UAE or Bulgaria, be prepared to undergo PCR testing no earlier than 72 hours before entering the country. In Greece, as an alternative, a rapid antigen test made no earlier than two days before entry is suitable; in Turkey and Bulgaria, you can present a certificate of complete vaccination performed no later than 14 days before arrival in the country, in the UAE - only the results of the PCR test.

If you want to spend a vacation in a pandemic in one of the European countries, most likely you will need a fresh PCR test, since not all countries recognize Russian vaccines. However, there are exceptions, for example, the certificate of vaccination with Sputnik V is accepted in Slovakia, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia and Montenegro, and it is also recognized in many countries of the former USSR.

The situation with coronavirus infection is constantly changing, accordingly, the rules for receiving tourists are also changing. If you want to avoid problems when entering a particular country, be sure to check the current restrictions on the official website of the embassy before departure.

Vacation in a pandemic on the territory of Russia

In most Russian regions, "their" tourists are accepted without a certificate of vaccination and testing, that is, entry into the territory of the subject is free. However, if you want to stay in a hotel or sanatorium, you will have to present a PCR test or confirm the fact of complete vaccination. You can always find out the exact information from your tour operator or directly by calling the hotel.

Where can you relax without "vacation tests"?

If for some reason you do not want to be vaccinated and do not have time to do a PCR test, you can go where you do not need to confirm your health. Tourists are welcomed without any restrictions in Abkhazia, Albania, Mexico, Montenegro and the Dominican Republic, as well as in Egypt, which is popular with Russians.
