Ophthalmosurgical diagnosis

To determine the integrity of the eyeball and the state of conductive media are used

OST diagnostics is a non-contact technology that allows examining the structure of the anterior and posterior segments of the eyeball in vivo.

Gonioscopy - examination of the angle of the anterior chamber of the eye using a special goniolines (gonioscope). With the help of gonioscopy, it is possible to determine the anatomical predisposition of the eye to the development of angle-closure glaucoma, to assess the condition of the trabecula and the possibility of performing one or another type of antiglaucomatous surgery. During gonioscopy, a number of other changes can be detected that play an important role in the diagnosis: abundant spraying of pigment, goniosynechiae, newly formed vessels, remnants of non-absorbed mesodermal tissue, basal tumors, etc. Shown gonioscopy and to search for foreign bodies, localized, judging by the clinical data, forward from the lens. With the help of a special goniolens, laser glaucoma surgery is performed - laser trabeculoplasty. One of the criteria used to diagnose the stage of the glaucomatous process is the condition of the optic nerve head, which can be assessed using the fundus examination method - ophthalmoscopy.

Computer perimetry is a technique that is absolutely painless. It determines the location, size and depth of the visual defect. Perimetry is able to diagnose the early stages of impaired sensitivity of the retina, optic nerve, pathways.

Computer keratotopography is a method for determining the sphericity of the cornea. Keratotopography is performed by carefully scanning the corneal surface with a laser beam. A computer program processes color maps obtained by scanning a surface.

Determination of the thresholds of electrical sensitivity of the retina and lability of the optic nerve - study of the functional state of the retina and optic nerve.

Optical coherent biometry is a computerized non-contact study of the optical parameters of the eye (eye length and optical power of the cornea) for the most accurate calculation of the artificial lens of the eye. It is carried out with the help of the newest IOL-master device of the Carl Zeiss company.

Ophthalmometry is a study of the optical power of the cornea along the two main meridians.

Computer ophthalmotonometry - computerized non-contact measurement of intraocular pressure.

Pachymetry of the cornea - investigation of corneal thickness by ultrasound.

Achromatic perimetry - examination of the visual field.

Color perimetry - examining the field of view for colors.

Computer refractometry - a computer study of the optical power of the eye.

Ultrasound examination of the eyes (B-method) - determination of the state of the posterior segment of the eye using ultrasound. Study of the pathology of the retina, choroid, vitreous body.

Fluorescence angiography - the principle of the method is as follows: after intravenous administration of fluorescein, paint particles pass through the vascular system of the body. The use of appropriate photographic techniques makes it possible to register the circulation of fluorescein through the vessels of the eye. In this case, a series of positive photographs clearly shows the gradual contrasting of the vessels.

The sodium salt of fluorescein is an orange dye, it is readily soluble in water, with intravenous administration, almost all remains in the vascular bed and circulates with the blood. Fluorescein disappears from the eye through the vascular 5-10 min. And it is completely excreted from the body within a few hours. Various models of cameras are used for FAG. In JSC "Medicine" (clinic of Academician Roytberg) the Japanese camera " Torsop " is used. Side effects: discoloration of the skin and urine occurs very often, but after a few hours this effect disappears as soon as the drug is eliminated from the body. A contraindication for PAH is an individual intolerance to fluorescein. Echobiometry (A-method) - determination of the length of the eye, the depth of the anterior chamber of the eye and the thickness of the lens using ultrasound.
